Common Sense Approach
Hello California!
My name is Patrick M Rakus Jr, and I am running to be the Governor of this fantastic state that we are all blessed to call home. Please allow me to take a moment to introduce myself. I am 54 years old, married with children, and I am a Republican. In addition to having experience in both manufacturing and team management, I was also a successful small business owner in the Sacramento area. Anyone who knows me knows that I am a true believer in the age old adage that "Teamwork is what makes the dream work!". As Governor of this beautiful state, I will put together a team that will work tirelessly to bring back the dream of a once prosperous state. The dream of a state that has a "Government of the people, by the people, for the people...".
I am running for Governor because we cannot be a government of the people, by the people, for the people if our state is run by career politicians. It becomes more clear with every passing day that a career politician knows nothing of what we the people, the working class, the citizenry of California, needs to survive today.
This includes both the current leadership of California and many of my opponents in this race. Make no mistake, this is a race. A race to save the great state of California!
Somewhere along the way, the people of California have become accepting of the forced narrative that we must pay more and accept less. My fellow Californians, it does not have to be this way and it must stop! With the largest economy in the United States, and the fourth largest economy in the entire world, the majority of California's citizenry shouldn't be struggling the way that we are! Greedy, self serving politicians have created this climate. Now is the time to say "Enough!". Hold them accountable. Send a message that there are consequences for their mismanagement by voting them out.
I myself am currently living paycheck to paycheck. I know that many, if not most, Californians today are as well. Families must now work nonstop just to keep their heads above water. The cost? We are no longer able to have a family unit. We must now rely on others to raise our own children. We are supposed to just throw up our hands and believe that "Oh well, it just takes two incomes now to raise a family in California...". We have been made to believe that. Enough! Ask yourselves this question, "Who knows what is best for my children than their own parents?"
Back to Basics!
As your Governor, I promise to do the following:
State Audit
Bring in an outside unbiased third party to do a forensic audit of California's revenue, spending and allocated budgets to answer the questions we have all been asking: "Where does the state's money come from?", "Where has it all gone?", "What have we budgeted for?" "What are we spending our taxes on?", "How in debt are we and why?", etc. Transparency! Then, once we have the facts, we will create a realistic plan to not only get us out of this mess, but also one that informs us on how to spend responsibly in the future for all of our citizenry. We need a plan that is sustainable well into the future. Short sightedness is what got us here.
Education
An in depth review of our current education system. California now has 977 school districts! You read that right, 977! Why are there so many? The size of our state and population does not explain needing 977 school districts. Without a doubt, state spending on the education of our children should be prioritized. But creating more and more school districts does not accomplish this. Put simply, what it does is pull money away from the education of our children in order to pay overhead and administrators. The bulk of educational spending should benefit children and the education of our future generations! Currently, it does not. Core classes like Math, English, Science and History should be at the forefront of our priorities. The mismanaged spending within our current education system has resulted in the once robust and beneficial trade classes being cut and eliminated. That is unacceptable. The trades are what keep this state and this Country running.
Lower Taxes
We need to reduce and remove state income tax withholding as much as possible in order to give the working class more money in their pockets. More money in working class pockets means more money spent locally. More money spent locally means a robust state economy. It is that simple. The current tax structure in California lines the pockets of the few at the expense of the many. It is time to turn that structure on its head and put money back in the pockets of the majority!
Help for Veterans
We need to do more for the veterans of California. Period. California needs to provide it's veterans with housing and the services they need to be successful. We owe them that.
Homeless Solutions
Get to the root causes of the homelessness population. The homelessness population in our major cities is unmanageable and unsustainable. It has spilled over into most cites, towns and jurisdictions. We need more mental health facilities and programs to combat homelessness. Currently there is no incentive to actually solve the homelessness situation in California, because the organizations that have been entrusted to do so, have a monetary incentive to stay in business.
The Right to Bear Arms
California's gun laws are unconstitutional as written. We the people have the right to keep and bear arms.
Support Law Enforcement
Make sure all of our law enforcement have the staffing, the tools and the support they need to keep us all safe, and to provide law and order.
Reduce...Reduce...Reduce!
DMV fees are out of control. Gas tax and fees are out of control. Our roads are still horrible. Why is that? I will find out. I will fix it.
Let us get our state back!
The Plan for Victory!
I am extending an invitation. I would like to meet with other like minded candidates. I would like to meet with those who are running for senate seats, house seats, law enforcement seats, local government seats, ect. If you are intersted in being a part of this team please reach out. I would like to coordinate, help with each others campains, share my full plan to get our state back, and hear feedback.
I may not be a career politician like this state is used to, BUT...I do not give up and will fight until the end. That I can guarantee you. I am not a public figure, a Hollywood star, or a politician. But what I can promise you is that I have a plan to get us back on track.
